Magnesium Lignosulfonate for Soil Conditioning

Liquid Sodium Lignosulfonate – Grade One for Agricultural Formulations

Liquid Sodium Lignosulfonate – Grade One for Agricultural Formulation Evaluation

GAC-NaLS-L is a black, flowable liquid sodium lignosulfonate. ChinaLignin presents it for agriculture and fertilizer formulators who require pumpable dosing, but the current Grade One TDS is primarily an industrial product document. Agricultural suitability must be confirmed in the complete formulation and destination market.

Grade control: the data below come from TDS GAC-NaLS-L, Revision 2.0. Do not combine them with former Grade Two figures. Shipment acceptance must use the agreed specification and batch COA.

Current Grade One TDS values

ParameterValueFormulation relevance
AppearanceBlack liquidVisual identity; color may affect light-colored formulations.
Solid content45% minUse the correct as-supplied or dry-solids basis for dosing.
Water-insoluble matter1% maxRelevant to filters, pumps, nozzles and sediment.
Lignosulphonate content50% minConfirm analytical and reporting basis when comparing grades.
Reducing sugarAround 7%Typical reference value; check storage and formulation sensitivity.
Density1.20-1.32 g/mlUseful for tank sizing and mass-volume conversion at controlled temperature.

The current Grade One TDS does not state a guaranteed pH range. If pH is critical, obtain the lot COA and confirm the test concentration and temperature.

Agricultural formulation scope

The liquid may be screened as a dispersing, binding or processing aid in compatible fertilizer and soil-product systems. It is not a universal crop-yield product. Performance depends on nutrient salts, trace elements, pH, water hardness, solids loading, mixing sequence, storage temperature and application equipment.

  • Liquid fertilizer and mineral suspension: test dilution, sedimentation, viscosity, filtration and tank stability.
  • Granulation or coating: confirm binder response, drying load, moisture pickup, attrition and storage stability.
  • Soil-related formulations: validate physical function and local regulatory positioning; avoid unsupported agronomic claims.

Recommended qualification

  1. Review current TDS, SDS and representative COA.
  2. Define the target function and calculate trials on a stated as-supplied or dry-solids basis.
  3. Run an untreated control and several supplier-recommended trial levels.
  4. Check compatibility, stability, pumpability, filter/nozzle behavior and finished-product performance.
  5. Confirm local registration, labeling and permitted-use requirements before sale.

Packaging, storage and documents

  • Packaging: IBC tote or flexitank.
  • Storage: cool, dry and well ventilated; protect from freezing.
  • Shelf life: 12 months from manufacture under recommended conditions.
  • Handling: avoid mist inhalation and eye or skin contact; follow the current SDS.
