Ferrous/iron lignosulfonate (GAC-FeLS-B), black powder grade, is a water-soluble chelated iron micronutrient with 60% minimum lignosulfonate content, intended for agricultural spray and irrigation use and for evaluation in industrial chelate or dispersant formulations. This guide reviews the supplier-reported technical data and the checks needed before formulation or field use.
Supplier-Reported Technical Data
| Parameter | TDS value | Interpretation note |
| Appearance | Black powder | Confirm physical form on receipt. |
| Dry matter | 95% min | Use an actual batch result for calculations. |
| Water-insoluble matter | 1.0% max | Confirm filtration/test method. |
| Sulfate | 2% min | Source minimum notation retained; confirm reporting basis. |
| Total ferrous iron | Approximately 2-3% | Approximate total-content reference, not a minimum, soluble-Fe assay or plant-availability result. |
| Lignosulfonate content | 60% min | Confirm analyte definition and test method. |
| Moisture | 7% max | Interpret together with dry matter using consistent methods and an actual batch COA. |
These are typical production values for reference, not binding specifications. Obtain an agreed current specification and an actual batch COA before acceptance.
Applications
This grade is intended for agricultural foliar-spray and irrigation micronutrient formulations, and may be evaluated for industrial chelate and dispersant blending. Iron is required for chlorophyll formation and supports several plant enzyme and pigment systems, nitrate and sulfate reduction, and energy production; these are general plant-nutrition roles of iron, not a guarantee that this grade will prevent or correct iron-deficiency chlorosis in a given crop or soil system. Total iron content does not by itself establish water-soluble fraction, chelation stability across the relevant pH range, or crop availability. Suitability, dosage and compatibility for a given formulation should be confirmed through formulation and field trials for the intended system rather than assumed from this general description.
